Renewal, expiry and cancellation are different dates
The renewal date is when the next period may begin. The expiry date is when the current cover ends. A cancellation deadline may fall earlier, depending on the policy. Record each applicable date from your documents rather than assuming they are interchangeable.
Set a car insurance renewal reminder
Find the renewal date on your insurer’s notice or policy schedule and save it against the correct car policy. Check the registration and current policy number before attaching documents. Keep a renewal offer distinct from accepted cover, and record any cancellation deadline separately. PolicyTrack prepares future reminders from saved dates; it does not check your car’s insurance status or contact the insurer for you.
What happens when you add a date?
Future reminder dates are prepared from the information you save. Cancellation reminders are prepared seven days before the deadline and expiry reminders on the final day of cover. If you add a policy close to renewal, earlier reminder dates are already past; they cannot give you advance notice.
Use the time to review your insurance
Compare the renewal offer with the current schedule. Check insured people and items, limits, excesses, exclusions and payment terms. If circumstances have changed, ask your insurer what you need to update. An attractive price is only one part of deciding whether a policy meets your needs.
Stay in control of the next step
PolicyTrack does not renew, switch or cancel insurance for you. Contact your insurer to act on a notice and keep confirmation of any change. Email delivery can be delayed or fail, so also check insurer messages and retain your own record of important deadlines.
Will PolicyTrack stop an automatic renewal?
No. Contact your insurer using its stated process if you want to change or stop renewal.
Can I turn reminder emails off?
Yes. You can change email preferences in Settings. Check the timeline and insurer notices yourself if you disable emails.
Can I use one renewal tracker for different insurers?
Yes. Add the relevant dates for each policy, whether it covers a car, home, pet or another item. Reminders depend on accurate saved dates and your email preferences; always check notices from the insurer too.
